Met up with a novice last night who did not know how to cast. I couldn't quite believe it but he was right when he told me beforehand that he could only achieve about 40 yards. I do not claim to be a casting instructor but I learned "off the ground" casting a while back and can achieve over 100 yds whenever I want these days with an "airialised" version of the cast. Anyway, we soon got this guy up to around 80 yds and with a bit more practice, I am sure he will break the 100 yd mark. I am sure most of you don't have a problem but I do like to be helpful and if there is anyone else who would like to visit Hayling sometime for a casting session, just drop me a line.

nice gesture eccles, aerialised OTG is a great cast for fishing....practical for all beaches and gives good distance as well .
