this will be a long thread so i'll say sorry about that now. this will be a start to finish account of me and my dad re-vamping our boat, i am by no means an expert nor have i done things exactly right but hopefully this thread may give some people who are doing or are going to re-build there boat a few pointers. i'd also like to say i've had help/advice from people
on this site and another and a big thank you i wouldn't of had a clue what to do or where to start with out there help.
this is how my boat started the piece or wood is part of the old deck
after a quick clean
we then had to get the oak bearer and marine ply cut it to fit and put it in place to make sure it fit well.
after this me and my dad resined and fibre galsss the bearer in to place and fitted the budge pumps in place, after this we resined and fibre glassed the bottom of the marine ply then fixed that in to place cutting out hatches so i could get to the budge pumps
me and my dad have since then put the first coat of gel coat on and have striped the cabin, sanded down the inside of the boat top of cabin and edges ready to be primed
then had to take apart the steering and electronics ready to be replaced
still have two gel coats to go on deck then the priming and painting of the boat to go, after this i can start fixing nav lights, storage, steering, electrics etc into place.
i'll up date the thread as i go so in the end it should be a start to finish account of the rebuild/revampe to my boat.
UPDATE
managed to get a few hours work done on sunday so painted the side of deck area and put the second gel coat on with the sand although i think i used the wrong sand and didn't make enough gel coat up so had to make up more and got the amount of pigment wrong so two tone deck hopefully sort that out with last gel coat cover.
starting to take shape now, just have to paint the other areas then i can start on the storage and accessiries
