could someone tell me how to tie shockleader. also does it affect your casting when it goes through the eyes of your rod?

could someone tell me how to tie shockleader. also does it affect your casting when it goes through the eyes of your rod? you will maybe hear a small noise milo,thats ok but the biggest problem you may have will be the leader knot catching on the level wind of your reel mate, a tapered leader will give a smaller knot but they are more expensive........... if you do use normal leader as you dont use heavy leads 40lb breaking strain will be fine........

I have used the Allbright knot for the past few years - relatively slim and very reliable in my experience. I only do shockleaders when doing distance casting however, my use of 20 lb BS for mainline means I can get away without it for "lobs" up to around 60 yds.
