hi all just joined.as subject sais ive just bought a boat 17ft dell quay with cabin,lovely boat and i am in the woolston area of southampton.can anyone help we are looking for a local boat fishing club we could join as we are very new to boating ,we are not new to fishing (25 years and still learning) we are looking to go out with others to feel a bit more safe as we just dont know what we are doing when it comes to the boating side any help will be greatly apreciated.

Hi mate, there is one that has a yard just below the Itchen Bridge... not sure of the name...
Or there is one at Lee-on-Solent...again I can't help with the name.

Good luck. Some great fishing around the Leap to Cowes area.
I'll PM yuou a good Bass mark that has produced some crackers for me in the past when I fished around that area

thanks for the reply ,i keep the boat just near the jetty in woolston so the club must be neer to me ,cant wait to get started getting fed up with just looking at the boat!

Every year we hear stories of small boat anglers getting in to trouble or worse - being lost. Ask any experienced boat angler and they will be able to tell you horror stories they have experienced - and I'm no different. Hope you have fewer dangerous encounters than I did; but then I never had the opportunity to listen/ask and learn from others like the guys on here. Good luck with the fishing as well :sunny:
