My mate had his outboard engine stolen off his boat the other night by someone (see below ad posted on wightbay)
Yamaha 15hp S15AE 4 stroke 2001 Serial number 66ML401067 Dark blue/grey in colour Stolen very recently from Yarmouth dinghy park. This is one of a number of recent marine thefts in the West Wight. Any information contact Police 08450454545.
It seems they are hitting the boatyards quite hard at the moment. If anyone knows anything about it please PM me and I will pass it on to him or contact the Police on the number given. They must be getting rid of them somewhere, probably for not much money. It has ruined my mates fishing year as he can't replace it.
Thanks.

The old bill were checking outboards at the boat jumbles last year which is something i suppose. If it is travellers don't expect a happy outcome, the law as i know it does'nt apply to them.

Two weeks ago someone or some people tried to nick my 30HP four stroke. They had unbolted it from the transom, tied a rope to it but then found once away from the boat they could not hold it. The engine was laying on the bottom, rope still attached. I used a hiab lorry to retrieve it but it is now a write off. robably the work of a Pikey or a Pole!
