im thinking about getting another rod, didnt really wna break the 100 quid line and was going to go for the 13 foot daiwa sanstorm but dont know whether to spend the extra and get the supercast, thoughts pleased Dave

Spend the extra mate and get a super noodle , tbh mate theres a lot better rods on the market in that price range , something like the shimano nexave , great rods for the price :win: , failing that look at some of the rods in the for sale section :catch:

If you don't want to break the £100, get a Shakespeare Salt or Firefly Silhouette - both "all carbon" rods and both with great casting ability. I have both but think the Firefly has the edge. Agree with others that the Sandstorm is a bit floppy. You are welcome to try mine if you like.

thanx eccles, my mate i go fishin with quite alot has got one of the shakespeare salts n its alot lighter than my esprit i use at the mo, but i think im going to go for a xodus that bk recommended, after a bit of research they seem to be really good, i dont know if anyone knows if they are quite light in comparison to the shakespeare salt or abu esprit?

so when your sitting in your 195yard back garden and the sea was over the fence.... and are wondering.....can I reach the surf without leaving the comfort of your veranda.....it seems the Xodus is the tool.... dont be put off the sandstorm fella....it might be a noodle according to the "carbon " snobs but you can pick em up 2nd hand for a nifty and they are a good "spare tool" ...thru actioned admittedly..... sandstorm 50 quid second hand robbed have you hada go with a xodus then gaz :schmoll:

Theres a STX-S 130m Mk1 Supercast on ebay at moment for 35.00 starting price used twice. Lovely rods had 1 myself in past, better than mk2 STS, imo...

there is a genuine pic on WSF of someone casting a sandstorm and it's actually bent into an S shape :crazy: never heard a good word about them
