yak sesh

well well well what a night i had last night

it started about 4pm when i connected my fishfinder to the yak.it wouldnt work so tested the bat wich was fine.sod it i think ill just buy a new 1

met up with mark and nigel at shanklin set up andgot on the water

paddled down to horseshooe ledge with feathers trolling behind us for some mak
i had none nigel had none mark had 5

i did get a nice pollok tho

any way got to the ledge and went on shore for a smoke the went on the plug with no luck





this is when it started going wrong for me
well after the fishfinder had messed up i then lost a set of feathers.riged up my 2nd set and lost them.then lost a shad
so use a 1 ft dive plug with no luck

so off we went to set up anchor
the sea was flat but the wind whistle passed

set up for bottom fist drop snag had to cut the line.set up again.snag cut the line.this happend 5 times

riged up again baited droped over and the hook got stuck on the paddle leash so i had to cut the hook.droped it over the other side and get the 2nd hook cought on the anchor line.sorted that and got the fffffff in thing stuck in my paddle pants :crazy:

we was getting a few pout but then mark shouted conger onnnnnnn.no what a larf that was watchin hime fight a conger yak all over the place and he'd forgoten his light ;D ;D

buy now id had as much as i could take so went to pull up anchor and the sodding things was solid.mark tried to pull it up but even after triping it it still didnt want to come up so after fishfinder packing up lost 5 traces 1 shad two sets of feathers and a anchor i had a fantastic time not

Sorry to hear about the anchor mate... not good. If it happens agin then as a suggestion - bouy the anchor and get the numbers .... post them on the forum and see if one of the boat guys will go and pull it for you with their alderney bouys

Still sounds like you had an adventure despite the disaster. I've lost two anchors todate... both despite tripping and using the engine ...it happens
