It depends what you want to do with it or whether the lure is weighted or not. If the lure is one of the weighted storm type shads then i would fish it just like a plug. If its not wighted you have a few options either a 3 foot ish trace with a small ball lead above it or you could just hook it on a small lead head and fish it that way. You can try altering the weight to fish at different depth and speeds. Theres so many different ways you could fish it depending on what sort of lure it is its hard to tell you what will work best on the day just have a play and see what you feel comfortable with. Most importantly keep trying different depths and speeds till you find whats working on the day!

cheers mate. will have a play around sometime. i didnt go out today after all, i was supposed to get up at 8 30 so i could be down at the dinghy at 10 and ready to fish over slack water but didnt manage to get up till 9 45 :bash: ive got this purple rubber lure that looks ok its about 4 1/2 inches long cos its its got one of those long tails that like the shape of a twin tail but its only 1 tail. its not weighted. i had an idea last night to attach it to a bubble float with a good length of line and retrieve it slowly with short little pulls to make it look injured

Worth giving them a go with small leadheads, easy to cast.
