Noticed when I was putting my rods together yesterday one of them had become a tight fit?If I hadnt had a companion fishing with me I would have struggled to have seperated the damned thing at the end of the session - I tried swapping them about as I have a matching pair............please dont reply if you are a member of the dirty minded brigade - lol

I have a CCC LD that did that, especially in hot weather, a gentle wipe with some 320 grit paper and some candle wax put it right

all of my century rods have done this
When i talked to Lew at Century about he reckoned that it couldn't happen because of the stability of materials etc
On all of them i lightly emery clothed the male joint till it fitted properly again and none of them have swollen again
i personally think that they take on moisture and swell after being absolutely dried out whilst curing in the autoclave
dont be tempted to cast the rod if the joint isn't right in. i have seen a few rods crack at the joint from ill fitting spigots

Thanks Mooseman?Maxwell - I was a little reluctant to take those steps in case I got carried away and finished up with a sloppy fit...............

I think Autoclave is done under Steam Pressure, so they don't dry out at that point in the process,it must be an after process that dries them out, mine Clive live in a damp shed and all my century's have swollen!
A quick sanding with wet/dry has sorted them, but I am worried about a re-occurrence on the beach so I always take some w/d with me when I goes fishing.
