Im not a lure angler by any stretch of the imagination, but I cant see the problem with spending 20 quid on a lure. I cant remember the last time I went out for a propper beach session with less than 20 quids worth of bait, and you can only chuck your bait in the sea once! If thats your hobby and its what you want to spend your cash on then go for it!

i couldnt agree more i was gonna say that in last post. fishing sub surface lures and poppers you rarely lose them anyway. If you enjoy fishing and take it seriously you do end up parting with your cash. im about to part with £400 for a tenyru bar 270 No doubt it wont catch me anymore fish but il enjoy every second using it!

It's worth carrying some lures that cast better than the J13/11 if you want the best of both worlds have a look at the jackson artoron jf125. It casts like a single bodied minnow so you get more distance than any jointed lure but when its airborne the weight shift system kicks in and a pin is released from the tail so that when you retrieve the lure its action is that of a jointed plug! I bought one last year from japan but last time i looked veals were doing them. Brilliant lure in my opinion.
