I've never used a sit-on sea kayak but in my youth did plenty of white-water kayaking in a battered K1. I'm now far too horizontally challenged to fit in the cockpit of the average kayak and even if I could I'd be on the extreme limit of what the kayak could carry.
So, before I wander into my local sea kayak showroom and make myself look like a real plonker, what weight do sit-on kayaks comfortably carry? I've always fancied messing around in Poole Harbour on a kayak so is it feasible for a 100+ kg slob to try it?
