I had my yacht Coppersealed (paid them to do it) but it was well worth it. I pulled her out at the end of the year to check the bottom and there wasn't the slightest sign of any growth. Two years later still the same. When I eventually sold her I thought I'd need to have to clean the bottom finally as she'd be in the water for 5 years continuously - but no... Still as clean as a whistle, just a bit of algae at the waterline. It was worth every penny, no need get filthy grovelling about under the boat to pressure wash, sand and repaint every year, and not having to pay to lift her out every year and buy antifoul saved the cost of having the copperseal put on in the first place So in my opinion, if you're going to be keeping the boat in the water all the time and expect to be hanging on to it for a few years then go for Copperseal

Do you leave your boat in for 5 years without replacing the anodes etc? I have mine lifted out every year for anode replacement, hull polishing etc., in addition to antifouling.
I use Blake's "SeaTech" antifouling, which is water based. It is very strong and it is like emulsion to put on. You have to order it, though, suppliers don't keep it on the shelves. Some people I know who have used Copperseal have had electrolysis problems, and it has worn off after 5 years or so.
