I was at the SBS and was looking at the Westport Pro6 and the Raider Pro Angler.
Does anyone have any experience of either boat ?

do you mean the warrior pro angler? I don't think raider make that model, raider do the 18ft in wheelhouse, fisherman and cuddy guise. hope to help.

Hi I have a couple of reports on the Warrior Pro on my web site www.fishing-boats.info/My mate had one and found it was too restrictive as he often fishes with 3 people on board. He went back to the standard 165 Hope it helps Dave

Given the choice, I would opt for an English Built raider 18 fisherman. This is what I currently have. It is totally awesome!!! It is totally head and shoulders above any other 18 foot fishing bot I have ever owned (this is now my 7th boat in as many years!!! I used to have a warrior 165, it is a good solid boat, but the raider being just a foot and half longer feels nearly double to size, especially when it comes to desk space. The high sides are a bonus, you feel really safe.
I would avoid the later Polish built Raiders, they seem far hevier and are not a patch on the older english built ones... I promise you you will nto be disappointed! The hardest bit is getting hold of one...

I promise you you will nto be disappointed! The hardest bit is getting hold of one... Here, here. Agree with all above, I've not had any experience with the Polish built Raider so it would be wrong of me to slag it off but it is fairly well accepted that its of much poorer build quality than the Eastbourne built boats. I'm not sure about it being heavier though, I thought the Polish model was laid up thinner with less structure making it lighter??? I know that they are famous for the sides flexing in a sea, that would suggest it thinner. The only one thing I would say is that the Warrior 165 will be a better trailer launched boat single handed, the raider is a bit of lump launched on your own, it can be done but if you are compounding her my advice would be to replace the road trailer with a light well balanced yard trailer to make launching as easy as it can. Regarding the warrior pro, I personally prefer the basic 165 & 175 models but again the 175 is a big boat to launch single handed unless your yard has really good facilities & your super fit.
