I dont expect you'll struggle to get any on the island but if so I do know that Johnson sea enterprises brings fish over to the island each week, some could be brought over then.

the cuttle was ruined this year by the commercials down the west!As the fish quota's were full they targeted cuttle and wiped it before it got here a commercial guy told me as they had the worst year for a long time in the traps and trawling. But by that you would think there would be loads to sell cheap! and every year it gets dearer.Problem is most goes to the continent and the ever increasing demand as more fisherman use it as bait + a poor year and the price is well high! scotties in newport has some at the moment.

Have a dwindling supply now but has, as usual turned up a few fish lately... Saying that, the split on the Cod this winter season has been 13 to squid, and 8 to Cuttle, with the latter tending to be the bigger fish... ...I plan to have a go at trapping next summer, trouble with that is you tend to get the mature ones in to spawn doing that.

got a fish crate frozen for £20 as they had so little they just kept filling each day till they were full!just kept the heads and the guts as they were all large! use heads whole and lacky the guts in some of those big squid I still have. The rule is buy in spring and stash for the season.Had a place down west who was prepared to sell me 3 to 5 inch 90p a kilo from the west then but they came in blast frozen 17 kilo lumps.

Blimey Andy, gimme a PM next time and I'll take the bodies off you. An inch wide strip of body meat fits down the back of a whole squid nicely. It's seems to work well and casts very well too.
