I'm shopping about for a decent floation suit as I'm going on a boat on monday.
Have been looking at a few ie, Sundridge, Penn, Imax, but I am really unsure what to go for.
The Imax 2 Piece looks the business but I have read some bad reviews from googling it. Some of the reviews are a few years old so I dont know if they are talking about a different model or what???
What are your thoughts or recommendations

Think you will find that those bad reports are refering to the older Imax suit grey/orange? Obviously the most important factor in the suit you buy is its bouncy and that it will help to keep you alive in the water and not moan that it is too hot on, to walk along the beach!
I have the older Imax and have had some of the stitching coming undone, but then its used for beach work. My first Survival suit many years ago was tested as soon as I got it by jumping in from my boat, couldn't get my legs down to clamber back in, so went back to a normal lifejacket and thermals for cold weather. The imax I have now is not that bad as such, reasonably well made and would last a lot of years if looked after?..can't tell you how bouyant it is though.

Think you will find that those bad reports are refering to the older Imax suit grey/orange? Yes I think the reviews are of an old suit from 2005, which from what I can work out had pretty light weight outer fabric and as they say mud sticks! I would hope that this one isn't the same as the one made 4 years ago. The one I saw in the shop I went into today is made heavy material which looks very waterproof and to be honest it made the sundridge suits look inferiour in terms of quality, granted Sundridge is all about being lightweight but does this comprimise warmth? I tried the Imax on and a Sundridge Mk6, the Imax warmed me up alot quicker and fitted quite well. Unfortuantely the Sundridge was perfect in trouser size but the coat was way too big, maybe the en-tec would be worth trying on although the sizing is probably the same.

You wont beat a sundridge mate, i have had the en-tec and i now have the crossflow, both good suits but the crossflow is the best but a tad expensive now
