Need your help again. Looking for a recommended good value 12'6'' - 13' beachcaster which comfortably does 2-4 ozs. Cant afford Zzzipy or Cono. Been looking at Soniks but would really appreciate any users reports or reccys. Thank You.

as said the bze seems a lovely light rod, but with plenty of guts :win:
even cheaper but a bass rod is the shakespeare salt bass -cracking rod for under 50 quid ........

I bought a Firefly Angling bass rod earlier this year just to see what it was like cos I already had one of their beachcasters. I have to tell you mate, you will not be disappointed if you go for one: All IM7 carbon. Shock absorbing SiC rings three very light and slim pieces a posh sling back rod tube approx 12' 4" , £54. First time down the beach I hung a 100 gm sinker on it and chucked it something over 100 yds using OTG style and I reckon it would handle 125 gm too even though not rated that high. So is it tough enough? Well, it pulled in a 5lb codling a few weeks ago no problem although it has yet to handle a big smut.

get a bze u cant go wrong ive ad a handfull of them I have the 2-3oz BZE. Bought one within a week of watching my mate bully a 12lb smutt in on one. Strong as an ox! I have had a few casts of the 3-5oz one and its just as good. Light as a feather too.

Are you after a bass rod or a beach caster? As 2-4oz would be the ratings of a bass rod rather than a beachcaster.
Sonik Sk3's are not a bad rod for the money mate, I've got a pair. They are rated at 4-6oz though. Very light weight and easy to load when casting. They can handle double smutts and massive lumps of weed. Decent mid-range, clean-ground rod.

Thanks very much. Most of our stuff is done on piers/beaches . Looks like we'll be investing in a Greys. Cheers again,
