looking forward to my trip down there tuesday, wind is forcast to drop of by then for a day or so best of luck mate. even if the wind drops off, anything in the south-west will keep the swell there so go steady. you may need to hide behind your beach buddy from the onslaught of dogfish! :dunce:

i'll be amazed if that beach is fishable tuesday with yet more high winds between now and then some hitting f6-7 sw,it would need a change to nw through to ne to tame that swell and that would take a minimum of 24hrs+

Hard to imagine the scale of those waves unless you have been to Chesil (which I haven't)... but it does look awesome from the photos.... can't beat a good storm beach for pure majesty of nature

Good luck Rich ;D
It's amazing how far the undertow pulls back when it's like that, similar on some of the IOW back beaches. If you can manage a 40 yard cast, you can't even be sure that it's under water when the waves drop back.

Fished there with Daz a few years ago and we lost stacks of gear as we couldnt keep our lines high enough to stay out of the undertow. Never fished abeach where that happens before

With the undertow like that, you would be lucky to land a fish! Good luck if you try!
