Every IOW shore angler must have fished here at least once in their fishing lives so i though these pics may be of interest to them. Built around 1866-70 (i think) much of it was two stories plus, but all of that has now been removed so all we now see is just the one `L` shape row of single arches. Still trying to find out when much of this demolition took place. Late 50`s??? From sconce point looking east Toward the toilet block The courtyard Looking SE. I remember going in that small terrace on the left when they were ruins. Toward sconce Again, toward sconce point The toilet block Sconce point Demolition From the toilet block looking NE Approaching the main entrance (referb pics) From the pier looking South (is that an old torpedo on the shingle)? Officers mess or cell block??? Cant picture this angle myself ??

I guess the arches were for strengh like how an eggshell is strong from tip to tip. Yeah it looked to be a huge complex. I know golden hill fort used 10 million bricks, so i reckon this used a lot more than that!
