Anybody got experiance of the greys g mag 7.I Would like a mag reel capable of taking plenty of 30 Ib line and wonderred if they are any good. currently using 525 mags but once you go below full spool too easy to empty spool ,leaving no excess should big fish decide to run with bait.

I know its not what you asked for but ABU do a 7000 mag, supposed to be pretty good too! Have you thought about slosh 30, two red blocks and there pretty tame and holds loads of line

Be very wary of the G Mags.
A lot of the pre-sale reels that they distributed had the gears chewed up very quickly. They may have made some changes since but i have still heard a few mutterings about them

I'm in the same boat P/B, though I have big hands but a small thumb so strugle with large reels like sloshes and like you needed large line capacity. I use my reels in the reel down position and find that now I have got used to stretching my thumb over the reel I can grip them ok for power casting. If I have to have reels up then on the sloshes I have my hand around the gearbox to allow my thumb to grip the reel.
