Got a few slow worms in my garden ere in sunny somerset i,ve put some pieces of slate down for em to sun themselves on bit of a nature fiend too nick , i spend hours in the garden beastie hunting ,would be great to get a snake in there though managed this pic once the bugger stayed still also had this cracking vapourer moth catarpillar it great if you take a bit of time to have a look about what you can see just outside your door Fantastic pictures Paul.... looks like you have a snazzy camera mate Looks like there is a bit of blue colouring on the slow worm... if there is then its a male; Plain brown females. :nerd: ;D I used to catch loads a nipper... great beasties and a total pleasure to see

Nice one Nick,Grass Snakes are pretty critturs, give off a strange smell when alarmed,I think it must be some kind of defence. As a kid I must have bought a hundred of the things home to scare the pants off me mum(God bless her),and then released them up in the Garden, along with a lot of Slow Worms as well.My old man was an avid gardner and he had very little problems with slugs due to the healthy population of reptiles that abounded our premises
