how about the berkley scales (classic range) they weigh upto 50lb in 1oz divisions, will store 10 weights in its memory and if you need to weigh a suitcase for a holiday you can change to kilos at a push of a button! batteries included!! R.R.P £27.99

I'm with Lonis ... Berkley digitals are very good.

Was in Maplins today and noticed they did digi scales, the one I saw was very similar to the one I got from scotties, went up to 50kls and was about £9. but could be wrong about the price as I looked at many things in there..lol

I would ask for an analogue set and avoid digi scales personally. digi are nice and easy to read and usually take up less space than analogue scales, but are much less accurate.
these berkeley/rapala scales are just mass produced far eastern rubbish with a brand name badge on and sold for mega profit margin.
sorry to hear about your son getting laid off mate.

look i cannot speak for all digi scales but the fox digi scales are very accurate and unusually for scales they are accurate at weighing dace of just over an ounce to carp up to 6o lb .AVON SCALES ...are nearly always weighing two ounces out across the weight range and ruben heaton scales are fine over 10lb ...heres a thing a brand new set of avons were sent to five weights and measures stations acroos the country ...the scales were duly tested and five different results were given ...i have grown out of weighing fish since coming back to sea fishing ...as a coarse angler i was always interested in the numbers game ..is it an ounce bigger than my pb ...now i just want to enjoy the day out .

Hi Mike, I had some Berkley's and they didn't work for very long. The LCD's started going crazy and they'd switch themselves off after about 3 seconds (despite changing the batteries). I've got some Grauvell digi scales, these seem to work better. You could go for the low-tech reliable option and take these with you every session Lee:You'd probably get away with the 3 smallest weights

Now i'm confused thanks for the advise all, Steve those scales look the biz, no room in the rucksack i'm afraid, where did you get the grauvelle scales from mate?? want to cover all options. even if i put some dosh to it myself. Thanks for the concern about the boy losing his job Adam, thats the second one his lost in 5 months, the building trade is pretty dodgie at the moment, He's crapping himself at the moment with a £960 a month mortgage :thumb:
