Top tip from the tourney casters is to rub a bit of inner tube on the area of leader that raps round the spool to increase the grip. Also use a short piece of inner tube as a thumby when casting. Saves spool slip and burnt thumbs.

Are you saying Drew, that you have used this line and do not reccomend it for Leaders! for the price and quantity it looks a bargain??? lighty price and quantity have no bearing on what line or gear i use......i use what suits me not others ..........but definately a bargain john, no doubt its good kit........just me being me never got on with greased weazel.......or co-polymer leaders that are shiney ;D even if it was 50p a spool , if i didnt like it i wouldnt use it ......... ive never used a thumby for fishing and had trouble gripping it and berkley ironsilk was the same.........as greased weazel used to be only available on smaller spools that worked out quite expensive if you fish a lot i instead started useing bulk spools of 50-60lb line - berkley triline, even sea strike .......grip was better and more economical- never looked back really.......the greased weazel in plain orange was much better to grip, not as shiney or slippery as grey ..different feel altogether each to their own .................Gantel was good stuff as well , lovely colour ! the said proper shockleaders have never really grabbed me........ small lenghts put on small spools for higher prices and advertised as the be all and end all ..........£2.50 for a 4oz spool of seastrike lasts a season these big spools of greased weazel (or similar)do look a good buy though if you get on with it my rod bells are super duper shakespeare double belled jobs .......real loud - i lovem .........but others dont ;D but i do prefer Mc vities biscuits ;D

im not a massive caster, and i use big pit fixed spool reels not multis so it suits my style of fishing. and of the boat i 99% fish downtide so theres no casting. cant say what its like on multis as id lose it on every cast lol

Well, being a big fan of Greased Weasel for leaders and snoods, but expensive to lose, then I may try this line that Skillpot has suggested above, so fingers crossed eh that I can get on with it! otherwise its up for runner beans mate!!
