OMG! This text editor is unfriendly! Here's hoping the graphic comes through. I am a fan of Scarborough Reels for very deep Water Fishing and Wrecking. The contact with the fish is immediate and sensitive. However, under heavy loads, the basic frame can bend and there are issues with braking and line guides. To overcome the bending bit, the obvious answer is to use a rectangular frame, giving support on both sides of the reel. This also permits the inclusion of an adjustable braking system and line guide. The use of this type of frame also moots the possibility of anti-reverse ratchets and dual speed recovery gearing......... more of that, in later postings, if I can get the graphic to work. This first graphic is pretty self explanatory. Attachments:
