I used the warmer weather ...and my greenhouse to make a start on the glassfibre work of the fixing plate for the bilge pumps. Raiders have a V-Shaped bilge which makes fixing a bilge pump difficult. So my plan is to glass-over a sheet of ply and then glue and glass in a flat plate; on to which I can then fix the bilge pumps...one with a float switch and the other to the dash switch panels. The sheet of ply is cambered on one side to match the V of the bilge.
Once I'm satisfied its sealed then I'll paint it grey and fix with Wet Grab; followed by a further sheet of glass resin to the fix the plate to the sides of the bilge.
I can't claim to be any good at glassing, but this is my second time ever...Soooooo
Best bit of the day was the Grass Snake came out and was literally 3 feet behind me...ignoring me entirely as I worked and cursed ;D gotta say its piratically tame now !!!
Probably watching and chuckling to itself at how bad a job I was doing :hysterical:
Meanwhile the Radar Arch was nearing completion ...and finally collected today - thanks to Andy for the collection and running around towing my boat to and from. Made to fit my boat by Fluid Fabrications in Gosport. It took a couple of days longer than originally forecast, but totally chuffed with the craftsmanship and result...
Double bar at the back edge, to provide a rigid frame to prevent movement of the rear cuddy edge. The small lugs are to fix the deck LED lights.
I'm hoping to find some time to get it fitted to the boat...so I'll post some pictures of how it fits and provides the support mentioned
