Has anyone tried mullet for bait?? I used it in oz and it was deadly. I have tried it in the boat here and have had a few fish on it Going to catch a few this year and fill the freezer up ;D

never used it myself but i know a lad who used it very well for bass as live bait and caught a few.

good idea m8 best thing for them is on the hook as bait They are quite an oily fish would imagine they would give off a good scent!

My uncle used to use mullet for conger, in Weymouth Harbour. He had some STRANGE tastes in fish!......... Like Kippers in Custard.............

Used a lot in NZ too - tough, stays on the hook, oily and catches.

widely used for conger in the channel isles nick, no reason for it not to work here mate, pretty hardy bait that will take plenty of pecking around by nuiscance objects and crabs..... i have heard of bembridge shark anglers rigging a whole mullet with some sucsess

as said already thay work for conger, and the small ones work for bass.

nice fighting fish on light tackle the mullet, to good for bait, keep them for sport.
