put into a tray mate with a little water, not too much 1/4 of an inch max and let nature do the rest, any that are lifting place in the fridge and use within a day or so if you try to force the issue too much expect casualtys, dont be tempted too pop them in the microwave!! or place in a hot area.....it will just kill em cat litter trays are just the job, but always cover them over to stop escapies ...... when you have a couple dozen nice big male crab popping give me buzz so i can pick them up and go fishing !!!!!!!! ;D

I have a tank with aerator set up for crabs that aren't popping, but as Drew said shallow water will be fine, just make sure that it doesn't cover them fully or they will drown eventually...
I have been told that bringing them in and out of water one day at a time brings them on but never tried...
When they start to become brittle and develop a hair line crack, put them in the fridge and cover with damp newspaper...I have a little garden spray bottle with seawater (at fridge temp) to keep them damp....
As said, make sure you have a deep container or a lid or you will be playing hunt the crab...trust me it doesn't go down well at home ;D!!!

I have been keeping crabs in a small amount of flowing saltwater in stacked trays with the water pumped from the bottom tray! this seem to bring them on in no time! Hair line crack one day softie overnight altougth this may be two fast putting them in the fridge as everyone knows, slows them down. As the water is flowing the crabs dont even attempt to climb, the trays are seven inches deep! Kept at room temp and changing the water every three days or so
