New to spinning this year. Was wondering if someone can tell me the best length rod to use?

Hi, well there are purpose built rods for plugging and spinning and length wise go from 7` to 11` usually. On a busy pier after mackeral 7`-9` is ok. If your after Bass from the shore, and are going plugging, a half decent Carp rod of 2 1/2 to 3 lb test curve works well.
