I've got a couple of multi jointed lures - 28g - 5 segments - one treble under the belly, and one on the tail.
The problem I'm having is the tail treble tangling in the line, so all I'm doing is retrieving a curled up lure.
Not using additional weight - no leader - just 15lb mono to a swivel on the lure.
Any tips to avoid this happening ?
I'm only getting this on these multi joint lures - all the others are fine.

As per my opinion with the bubble float tangles, I think you may be forcing your cast, or do you cast, holding the line in your left hand?
What is most likely happening is that, during the cast, you are allowing the line to overtake the lure. This is a common problem with the two handed cast, where the line is held in the non-casting hand.
(I dunno why people do that)
It can also happen when the caster uses too much wrist, to snap the lure forward. If you look at your cast at its apex, you may see that your lure, instead of tracking a path in line with the line, is actually flicking into a reversed attitude.
When the line, under these conditions, is released, the relative attitudes of line and lure will be such that the lure actually lies on the line throughout its flight. Of course, when it hits the water a tangle is on the cards.
The forcing of the cast actually reduces length of cast.
Much better that you treat the rod like a bow and let its intrinsic energy, due to its bend during the cast do the work. The result is a much longer and accurate cast. Forcing the rod places excessive strain on the bend, which causes it to whip, when the line is released and that is the root of most casting problems.
Or it might be that the weight of the jointed lure is too much for the cast rating of the rod.

Thanks guys - could well be too much wrist - using a light 8ft rod so I do tend to force the cast a bit.
I'm old school - pinch the line onto the rod with one finger when casting, but these lures do tend to lie along the line as you suggest
I'll try moving treble as a last resort - maybe fix a shad tail where the end treble is now
Thanks again .......
