Not posted for a while, I tend to hibernate over the winter months but now i've purchased a Shetland Sheltie.
I wasn’t really looking for a boat but when you get offered one at a good price, well you know!!!
The boat‘s on a trailer, painted and that’s about it. Will get a few before and after pic’s on here later.
Need to run full electric’s, steering, batteries, fit a live tank, gel the deck, glass up a sump for the bilge pump, fit cleat’s bow roller’s, make 2 seat boxes to put swivel seat's on top and storage selves in them, the list goes on but I am looking forward to cracking on.
Oh and an engine, currently looking for a 75hp ish
It’s not the charter boat I was looking for but it will get me out on the water.
If anyone has any bits’n’bobs in their shed’s that may be of use to me then please pm me
Cheers
Arron

Nice one Arron, How old is it. Would you belive i got brought one for my 18th birthday from the london show. It was just to keep me off a motorbike after a real bad accident. It had a 48hp pull start mariner (anyone remember them) it was in 1978. Great boats and it is still going strong at our club now.
Rich.

Well I've started things on the boat. I made a sump to hold a bilge pump. Before, any water that came over the side went through a drain hole into the bilge and stayed there until the boat was out the water. Seating was next, made them out off wood, 2 layers of 450 glass and 2 coats of gell coat. I cut out a hatch in the back for storage Hopefully by the end of the week, the other seat will be done, steering fitted, a 75hp mercury will be on the back and i would've started on the electrics. The elec's may have to wait until i've had a quick test drive

Been busy with the boat the last few weeks but managed to get her sea worthy and took here for a test run.
1991 Mercury 75hp 2 stroke, raymarine c70, bilge pump, live tank pump, new steering, remotes, seats all fitted.
Had a few teething problems on the first trial, replace pitted fuel hose's and cured the running fault. She now skips along at 30kts and cruises along at 22 nicely. Left Langstone yesterday at 0800 to go the overfalls drifting and a 25l tank lasted me till about 1400 which i was real happy with. The wind kicked up to a good force 4 southwesterly as the tide started to ebb, so it was a very long slow bumpy ride home. Again was amazed how she's handled the sea. Got just north of the tower and managed 16 kts the rest of the way home.
A new deck was fitted before i got it and it wasn't fitted very well. The fibre glass had come away from the inside of the boat, water was splashing over the side and running down into the bilge. There was alot of water coming out the drain hole when i got it on the trailer which explained why i used 20 litres getting home
Hours before i realised that i'd come along way with the boat but soon reminded that i still got a long way to go.
Will put some pic's up soon
