Going to fit an Eagle Fishfinder to my boat - not fitted one b4. Any tips on mounting the transducer? Going for a transom mount and run the wire up over the transom - read that i need to be at leat 15" from the prop and looking to mount in between outer rib and next rib so as to provide some protection for it other than that any advice appreciated!
Thanks
Chris

If its new it should have the fitting instructions. If not then 15" is far enough to stop prop interfering. Site it so it won't get knocked if you launch from a trailer, transducer should sit around an 1/8" below the hull and parallel to it, don't fit it behind a strake or anything that creates extra wash.

Anyone know if any form of aftermarket guards are available to protect transducers? Some type of cage would be nice as transom mounted ones do appear to be vulnerable to damage.
