Hello. I have a Mariner 4 4 stroke outboard as an auxiallary engine, does anyone know whether a jet of water is supposed to come out from just under engine as on normal outboard or just from under the cavitation plate. The engine is about a year old. THankyou.

Looking at this video at about 20 seconds in, there is a jet of water. Mariner 4hp 4 stroke

thank you i thought there should be , mine must be clogged up somewhere along the line.

Try poking a bit of thick fishing line up the hole. Failing that it could be the implellor.
