Well my supposedly ultra tough Snowbee Granite chest waders have sprung two leaks into only their second season. Add to that a pair of Zebco Neoprene ones that lasted about the same length of time and im getting the impression im wasting my money. Can anyone recommend a pair that might last a little longer? I only use them to launch and retrieve the boat and always rinse them off after use so not like they get heavy wear.

I've noticed that a lot of commercial / professional fishermen wear Ocean chest waders. Must be a reason for that?

Yes suffered the same fate , neoprene waders last about 2 years then leak somewhere around the boot. ..Grrrr.... think it's so we keep buying new ones .

I had the same problem for the last few years with many neoprene brands lasting not more than 5 minutes...the Ocean Waders were recomended to me and they have lasted longer than the neoprene's already...still going strong ...

My ocean ones have lasted well and I use them for scrabling over some of the worst terrain you could think of for a pair of waders. Not cheap but well worth the money!

my nephew went to sparshot college for two years ..lads were there from all sorts of backgrounds and they had to bring and indeed replace their own chestwaders .Joe informed me it makes absolutly no difference if you pay over £300 pounds or forty pounds for a set of waders they will leak when they feel like it and no one brand or type was immune to this ...so get yourself cheap ones .i use wychwood which a very breathable and ive had them two seasons ..my mates lasted two weeks .....final bit of advice always always cut them toenails ...

My snowbees sprung a leak within a few months. No amount of patching afterwards cuts the mustard either.

I have been through too many pairs of chesties some lasted two weeks, others 6 months but the Ocean Novas are still going strong - boat launching, shore fishing, crabbing and even digging in them. They are not neoprene and are exremely hard wearing......very very good! I never see them advertised...probably because they don't need to be as they just sell themselves! Think I picked mine up from Veals. Out of stock...say no more! www.veals.co.uk/
