Ordered 100m of 14mm nylon anchor rope from uk-yacht-rigging-and-supplies on evilbay. The picture on the advert showed it all nicely coiled on a drum. It was delivered today. 300 feet of tangled rope in a sack... Should be fun to sort out. Thought it was good value at £90 though.

wouldnt of been any dearer in a chandlery on a reel and why did you get 14mm? 10mm would of been ideal

Thicker the better within reason if you dont have a winch. Its ok with the Alderney ring trick i guess but a large boat is needed to do that safely.

nah, 10mm is fine for that boat No-one said it wasn't, but 14mm is kinder on the hands.

nice one ian, thats good value. i only use 10mm on grappel anchors which can end up been cut off . thicker rope will be a lot easyer to work with for most general fishing .
