I've put a fair bit of planning and training in over the last couple of months in preparation for this trip which was cancelled due to poor weather conditions on three occasions. During the course of the week the weather had looked really promising and on my return from work in Luton on Friday the forecast looked perfect. Managed about four hours sleep and I was down at Lepe for 2am to prepare. Rigged the yak, registered my trip and I was ready to launch at 0255. I was making good time and arrived at the needles ahead of schedule I also hit St.Catherines ahead of schedule allowing me some time for a bit of fun in the race,it would have been rude not to Past St.Catherines point looking back to the needles. A bouy getting dragged under towards Ventnor. A couple of SOTs at Ventnor At Culver I was ahead of schedule Close up view A couple of yak fishermen between culver and bembridge Round past bembridge lifeboat station and into the solent and the wind was right in my face,it picked up to force 5 along this stretch and it hurt. The hovercraft.(ff battery ran out about here ) Pugwash enjoying the wind,,,,b*strds ;D Months of planning and preparation but an unexpected force 5 wind right in my face for the last stage was agony, overcooked last years time by 20 minutes coming in at 13hrs 45 mins for the 59.5 miles............... It just goes to show that you must expect the unexpected in our sport.

I expect he would ;DI've had loads of people ask me if they can "tag along" but as I'm trying to set a new 12 hour solo record for a plastic S.O.T. it is just not posssible
