this is prolly a stupid question but i realy need to no a few of you no iv had some probs with my 2001 suzuki dt55 outboard iv gone through the whole engine with a fine tooth combe.its had new plugs, thermostat, impellor, fuel line and bulb, tank, 2 stroke oil, plugs.petrol pump diaphram. took it out and it was fine at 16kts but faster and it died.keep pumping the bulb and runs fine at 28kts this is why i changed the tank and fuel line and bulb.i also fitted a inline filter. any way this is what i want to no can the pump be upside down ;D ? i ask this cos i thought ill check se if its leaking or any other vis faults, this is when i noticed the pipe instalation i had the fuel line going to the out on the pump, i had the carb tube going to the in on the engine filter, i had the out from the engine filter going to the in on the pump IS THIS WRONG OR RIGHT? ? when i bought the boat it had the dieing problem and when i had it serviced we found a home made diaphram with now spring or cup so it looks like how ever fitted it didnt take note of the pipe config i had a look at a few engines and found that the yamaha pump is the same as the suzuki so iv coppied the pipe work my engine start easy now and i can see petrol getting pulled through the new inline filter iv fitted any thoughts on this would be good
