has anyone tried whelk as a bait if so what species can they be used for. Any info would be appreciated.

tried them before when ive pulled in a load on good baits , didnt have a sniff ;D

I know long liners like them. Stays on the hook nice. I guess they must get fish on them.

like dave has said, thay use them on long lines for bass, but never done well on them .
