Having read up about these and seen one in the tackle shop, I decided that I must have one to get a beach rod with a bit more power without breaking the bank. If you hunt around as I did, it should be possible to get one for just over the ton - I paid £116. It's all black with a white tip and comes in three sections so easy to transport - another feature which I wanted. I was surprised to find that it is quite light and slim - almost like a bigger bass rod but don't let that fool you it takes a bit of practice and effort to get a decent bend in it so definitely not a girl's rod. For those that want to, I am sure that it will be quite happy to accept a pendulum cast. I don't know if they do a multiplyer version but I am a fixed spool man so it didn't matter to me. No, it doesn't have Fuji guides but the SiC rings look good enough - time well tell. Bite detection is actually quite good for a powerful rod - schoolies made it twitch OK first time out but it will take a bigger fish to really make it bend I fancy. Happy to answer any questions folks, if you are interested.

they are cracking rods. i have 2 both 16ft versions. very light with lots of power to boot. stunning finish on them. im no caster and use fixed spool reels. with very little effort the lead flies with a simple over the head thump.
veals have the 16ft on offer £99.99 each. quality rod for that money. normaly rrp £150.

Have now got the hang of it and can chuck it well over 100 yds using my usual 5 oz sinker, modified OTG cast and a drop of around 5ft. Would love to see what a younger bloke with more muscle than me could achieve with a 6oz lead. Veals are currently doing the 16ft version for £99 - unbelievable, why pay more?
