Could just about agree for mackerel, but for mullet? Hooks very likely ripped out in seconds unless the drag works properly as 4ft gives a very limited cushion against a sudden lunge.

I had one of these for some years. I mainly used it for trout; arguably, pound for pound, the hardest fighting fish in the water. When they take they tend to really go for it! I've taken a 3 1/2 lb trout on one also a 11 1/2 lb mirror carp.
