Not for me ;D
Had a top days fishing off Hayling.
Left at 0630 - fishing by 0700 spring LW - whole of the winner bank was virtually uncovered ...
Fished off Hayling beaches for years and always looked at the bank with envious eyes - all those breakers ... must be teeming with bass ...
Well today I proved it was
Fished along the edges and up to 50 yards off and followed the flood and the bass in ...
Had 18 decent Bass ... 2 keepers for tea ...
Have to say - caught my first ever bass on a 'proper lure and the floodgates opened - just the dogs danglies in fishing ... I can see what all the fuss is now - lures on braid - loved it !
8 were on lures and 10 on rag on the bottom, it was a fish a chuck so much so I gave up the rag rod and stuck with the lures as it was non stop. The Bass were taking the lure as it landed practically ...
I caught the lot on a shallow diver and it took a hammering .... had nothing on a surface popper surprisingly ...
3 hours of non stop was spoilt by the ferking WAFIS who started to come out so moved over towards the fair ground area ... just a couple of bass on the rag and zilch on the lures so moved again to the west of the Inn-on-the Beach and had one more on rag so switched over to a dexter and in came the mackerel !
Last hour was back towards the fair to drift but with the strong NW wind and the flood - I was virtually stationery for about an hour ... no more bass but had baby black bream ...
6 hours of non stop fishing - could not have had a better day
First Bass on a lure ...
Lure as big as the Bass - greedy little sod !
Any hook will do !
Mackkie on Dexters ...
Inn-on-the Beach
Bliss !
One battered lure !
