Allo tight liners, I am newly into fishing. My good friend whos is on here somewhere is showing e the ropes and I have had good results. I usually pier fish in and around Portsmouth but also get to go out on My friends boat and have my own little dorey I am doing up.

Hi Dean, Good to have you aboard mate. Looking forward to reading about your catches and fishimg adventures.
If you need advice on the boat then there is plenty of boat building and repair experience on here. You might wnat to stick a thread up with pictures on where you are now. The guys love to see a before and after with small boat projects.
Good luck for the rest of the season and tight lines

Greetings and welcome - don't be put off posting a catch report from one of the piers too.
Some people don't go much on pier fishing, but I think that piers can offer interesting results and plenty of species if you're prepared to mix up the kind of fishing you try - and if you experiment a bit.

hi dean, welcome aboard mate, sorry it's taken so long to aknowledge you as a new member on this site ... but i can assure you that there's plenty of info on boats and fishing here. look forward to our next session together which will probably be the camber docks if you pick the venue .... there's nothing wrong with southampton you know !
