Hi all just a quick one to say hello, Have been fishing the area for a while aboard other boats but have finally gone and got my own! Shes a Bayliner trophy, with a 150 merc outboard. Launched for the first time the other day, was nervous to say the least! but went relatively well. Now to start doing some research on marks etc!
Also wanted to say a big thanks to you for all of your posts, I have learnt a lot already!
Tight lines
Dave

Welcome on board Dave
Boat marks are a mystery to me, but there's plenty of others here that can point you in the right direction
Look forward to reading about your exploits

Great to have you aboard Dave; hope you enjoy the forum. The boat fishing has been really slow this summer....winds have kept us all close to shore and in shetered marks !!!! Lets hope the weather is more favourable soon and we can get the Baot Catch Reports section filled up Whereabouts are you based...and what fish are you going to target ? The Cod will be uppermost in most minds in the next 3-4 weeks....as they start to arrive off the back of the Island

Yep, really looking forward to this years inshore cod season! I expect they will be my main target species for the winter, fishing south of the light. I also have a bit of a thing for big congers! Have caught (and lost!) a few big ones down in the west country. Does anyone know if any of the inshore wrecks have decent numbers on them? I have the locations of quite a few of the local wrecks, but not sure how any of them fish! Until then will be trying for bass on the bigger tides, and maybe some rays on the smaller ones?....well, thats if this wind ever dies down and can finally get out!
Cheers,

I used to launch from Lymington....as does everyone I think; because its practically an all-tide launch site. Don't know about Keyhaven. Try the following link www.boatlaunch.co.uk/ I have only ever fished rough ground for Conger....try pm'ing Whitefisher (Andy) the boat section moderator...he's one of the expert on wrecks. You could also try Sharkey. If you stick up a question on General Fishing Discussions then you will get some good info Cheers Nick
