Launched last Sunday at Hopton near Lowestoft, the plan was to head offshore for some deeper water.I managed to find a lull in the surf and was away no problems heading directly East to the sandbar ;D Once safely over the sandbar I took a more northerly course and I was getting into my stride, the last of the ebb was helping. As I reached Great Yarmouth the RNLI were out They passed me and went inshore and it looked as if they sat and waited until I'd successfully cleared the second sand bar that was even more severe than the one off Hopton. The tide was less of a help now.Mid Corton Bouy But there was not far to go Eventually stopped offshore of the windmills and anchored up for about 20 minutes ;DThen I got bored ;D The tide had already been ebbing for a time and I began my journey back. I found an island full of Seals that I didn't know existed I even went for a swim with them ;D One thing I did notice about the Seals, they stink ;D The bar at Scroby on the way back,as you can see in the pics the wind was no help Although the fishing was not up to it's usual buckets of cod for all standard I had a great day and covered 20.7 miles and managed to fit in the time for two swims ;D

Great trip ... nothing like going for a dip with the seals I did the fastest re-entry I've ever done right in the middle of the surf zone, couldn't believe I pulled it off ;D

Good read and pics there mate. Know what you mean about seals stinking, I went cage diving with sharks in South Africa a couple of years ago off a place called Gansbaai. There is an island a mile or so offshore which is home to about 40,000 fur seals. It smelt like 40,000 festival toilets on a hot day!

If I didn't know better I'd think they cover themselves in thier own p00 to keep warm ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
