my mercury 90hp wont pull full revs,just fitted new plugs and took it for a blast but it only goes to 3000 rpm,if you take it out of gear and rev it it goes full throttle,checked full lines and conectors seem ok,if any one can help would be great,needs a tune up to,im willing to pay ,just need it done for the cod open next sunday that im running!!!!!!!!!!!

Possibly the diaphragm in the fuel pump

CHEERS rup spoke to paul he said the same as you,gonna have a look sunday and see if its that fingers crossed

i also had the same thing in my old engine. it kept going into limp mode and wouldnt pick up on the revs, it turned out to be the thermostat not opening so if the other dosnt work take the stat out and try it with out it in the engine

cheers olly fitted a new stat 3 months ago!have just been told it could be an ignition coil HOW MUCH!!!!!!
