Today was the day of the Lymington Open Boat Cod Competition,I thought it would be nice if I joined them ;D
Had planned to be on the water at 5 but overslept and didn't get launched till 6.It was still dark and I was grateful of a leaving charter boat guiding the way out to open water
Small tide today but still managed a good pace
When I passed the Needles I could see there were a couple of boats there.I set off for the spoil grounds.
Anchored up in 80ft.Opened the tackle box and I'd left my lug at home
,still had squid but it's not the same
Anyway started fishing and caught
And hundreds of these
During the morning I was joined by loads of boats although surprisingly many opted to stay inshore.
It started raining about 11am and was getting harder and harder and I was getting wetter and colder and called it a day around midday.A great day nonetheless
