Hi
After being restricted to shore fishing for the last few years, I am going to buy another boat in the next couple of months. I would welcome your feedback and experiences on which boats I should go for. I am looking up to 7m and it will be berthed in Poole. I would like something fairly quick for getting around to the purbecks and over to the needles. Am thinking along the lines of Quicksilver 640 or Merry Fisher but can be swayed by your experiences. Budget will be up to £20K. Look forward to hearing your views.
Many thanks
Elliot

I have had a 20ft Wilson and currently run a Raider 18. I favour the Raider out of the two. But I have heard such great things about the Pirate 21 that if I was in the market then its worth a look. Quicksilver and Merry Fisher are a steady design.... very popular & practical boats. Gotta be someone who has tried both ?

Heard alot of good things about arvors from friends that own them, think the diesel inboard with shaft drive is a major plus point with them over the pirates. Not sure if they do diesel inboard pirates now as I know it was talked about but I would expect them to be 25-30k plus anyway.

only my thoughts but for the money arvors are exellent. the diesel lumps give them a lot of sea keeping quality. but some(not all) of 25' do have a iffy engine. snowy knows this to his cost, his was 1 of 8 iv seen go bang this year. my fav's are the 23 with the 115hp nanni or the 20 with the 85hp and id have 1 tomorrow if i had the cash. the pirates now do a diesel inboard , but it on a leg drive and that means more cost and agro, i think the are better options for the money. merry fishers and quick silvers are also good boats but id feel like id have to clean it after every trip to keep the wooden bits shiny.....lol

there used to be a mi 21 in bembridge think it only went out when it was rough, that on it's own would tell me it is a good sea boat and it was pretty fast
