May well be the time to 'think' about new gear for next season, even if money is a bit tight after Christmas. Meant to post this a while back... In October was lucky enough to play with a new Okuma boat reel named the Andros 511. It's a small, 2-speed lever drag multiplier in the Avet, Daiwa Saltist Lever Drag & Shimano Talica form, and although I can almost hear you saying 'Okuma?', it really is worth a look. I reckon it will punch well above its weight. It's in no way a cheap reel. If you want to find out more detail, here's what I've collected so far: www.fishing-tackle.co.uk/okuma-andros-511-boat-reel-due-2011/www.fishing-tackle.co.uk/okuma-andros-new-information-released/

They have knocked out a few good bits of kit already. The magnetix was a cracking little reel.

It's in no way a cheap reel. At RRP of £400 I guess you are right

The magnetix was a cracking little reel. for the money rob they do seem good, the newer ones...magsystem are fine....nice solid alloy cage...............plenty of guts in the gears, nice big handle and a star drag that works ! only problem is they wear the wrong badge but ive been playing with the ms 15 for a while, quite a small reel for some close in stuff and its been great ........could see this range doing a job in the boats with braid at half the price of other reels

I know a certain big caster from gosport quite often uses one and loves it.
