There is just one item missing from my tackle shed so to speak although I have promised the mrs no more gear this year. Yes I do have some warm walking boots and waders but now decided that I want some ordinary wellies with thermal lining. Been looking at Shakespeare's offering but no experience of them - any of you guys use a pair??

+1 For the Skeetex mate. I've always suffered from cold feet and these were the only thing that worked for me.

Trouble with Skeetex type boots m8 is that they are non-breathable, means when your feet get hot, they sweat, sweat goes cold and so do your feet?

I bought a pair of Derry Boots way back in 1978, for use in the field, while in the Army. I used to spend around 10 months of the year under canvas.
I still have those boots and use 'em every winter. The only thing I do is change the insoles every year.......the carbonised ones, you get from the pound shops.......

Well folks I finally found a pair on ebay for just £20! I know, they can't be much cop at that price but they do have the requisite warm neoprene lining, seem comfortable and have nice thick cleated soles. So even if they only last two or three years they have to be a bargain.

Wellies shouldn't cost much anyway! A tip! buy a pir 1/2 a size too big. Then you kin wear a pair of these hairy socks in em. Then built-in insulation is not an issue. If you wear a pair of womens' knee-length nylon stocking under the hairy socks, you will be insulated down to at east -35C........... The nylon under socks wick very rapidly, if you accidentally fill yer boots!............ wiv water............
