I had everything ready ,battery for fishfinder and radio and camera charged ....so i forgot the camera ,picture was taken on simons phone .i also forgot the small part of the rodleashs ....tender hooks all day .
nice weather and the strength of tide was just about right .Out to the main channel and a plaice on the first drift ,then a better one maybe 2lb 8oz .
The tide died so i went in to brasso up my spoons and have lunch then back out to fish the flood adding another four plaice and a couple of whiting .
So up until this point the day had gone ok despite my memory being so poor.Si got back first and was quickly up on the slip .Now my legs go to sleep after a few hours and si usually gives me a hand up but on this occasion i swung my legs over the side of the kayak and just sat side saddle with my feet just of bottom .I Reached my feet to the bottom and was of the yak but i was walking backwards towards the yak which i then fell on .Yak turned over fish finder got its first dunking.Turn over hatch had not been secured so now remaining sarnies floating beads and tackle box's all over the place how i never broke a rod i dint know .lesson learned rods need securing regardless of no surf and the hatch needed to be flipped over so fish finder could come to no harm and it needed securing .....
a passer by was laughing ...si told him you dint want to laugh at him mate he is a Leeds supporter ..just made him laugh more ...
