Voyage of discovery

Launched from Tanners Lane today sometime after 5am.Plan was to head out with the tide to Dolphin sand.

The wind was still up allowing me to use the PA sail

By the time I reached Hurst the Sun was on it's way up



A few miles out of Hurst I spotted a new island



Time to investigate











It's highest point was over 2M above sea level and I was confident that it would be there for the return journey.

I carried on to Dolphin sand found a pot bouy and bungeed up.

Had a fish for a couple of hours resulting in 2 pout and 3 doggies

This guy in a yaucht came to check me out(thought I was a liferaft ;D)



On my return to the island it had been colonised by bloody jetskiers ;D





A nice little surf nearby,had a play as you do.





I saw a group of six sink paddlers out for a bimble ;D



Then I ended up in the middle of some yaucht race





Mark 48 is the island



Pretty uneventful 21 miles ;D

(Think that island comes and goes - it's marked as a foot deep on the charts - guess something wound it up)

its the shingle bank that blew up when we had storms a couple of months ago. should be around for a while until we have the next batch of storms and then it will shift again, this is near the area that caught out the container ship on the spring low tides.

i have been meaning to head out to dolphin bank and think i might give it ago in a couple of weeks, well done on a nice day out.
