Thanks, I've been down to the boom once in winter, fish Tanners a lot at night from May on, the small Bream being a pest. As you say traffic not really an issue at Tanners, bit more depth at the boom, but they'll keep clear of it ;D hopefully bigger Bream Please excuse my lack of knowledge, I know where Tanners is, but where or what is the boom? 50 45.406N 001 27.048W, it's a line of posts, the obstruction continues under water across to Hamstead ledge, or at least that's where/what I thought

Thanks Overun, I can now find it on the charts. Looking at the tidal charts it appears to rip through there, is it a place for the more experienced yaker?

There's a good tide all along there, if you're not happy anchoring in a tide suggest a visit over HW then at least you can fish breifly. Also avoid the bigger tides at first, go there from Tanners on the flood, then return on the ebb. On a spring you can expect 2.5 knots tide, about my anchoring limit and unfishable in weedy conditions.
